How do people talk about growing in faith and being a Christian today, and what language do they use to describe it? Over the last year, Doug Chaplin (Diocesan Lay Training and Discipleship Officer) and Ian Jones (Director of St Peter’s Saltley Trust) have been running a series of focus groups around the Diocese of Worcester to find out more. The results of their listening exercise are shared in this short video.
Doug said, “We used a set of pictures as part of the discussion, and people really came alive when they were talking about their faith using the pictures.” He and Ian decided at the end of the research project to create a set of pictures that could be used in parish and community discussion groups.
In November 2025, each benefice in the diocese will receive one postcard set for their own usage, with some additional sets available for churches in the diocese from the diocesan offices, and a limited number more widely available via St Peter’s Saltley Trust (see our Publications Page for how to order). Each set has two copies of 30 different photos.
