Description
“Between 2010 and 2011, Hannah Matthews, Research Intern at St Peter’s Saltley Trust, interviewed 37 key church officers in the West Midlands region and beyond, ranging from theological college and course staff to lay trainers, continuing ministerial education officers and directors and enablers of mission. Hannah’s report which follows builds up an in-depth insight into the place and understanding of faith in daily life and work issues within the current landscape of theological education and training, particularly in the Church of England but also with insights from ecumenical partners. It is offered as a contribution towards the current review of ministerial training within the Church of England, and as a contribution towards ministerial education and training cross-denominationally at regional level.
What, for you, are the implications of the findings presented here? In what ways might some of the suggestions made by participants in the research be developed and shared? St Peter’s Saltley Trust is keen to work in partnership with others interested to create practical responses to the issues identified here.”
