Ethical Finance and Tax Justice ‘Champions’ Training – Get Involved!

Sarah Edwards of the JustMoney movement (formerly Ecumenical Council for Corporate Responsibility) rites:

The JustMoney Movement is a charity working to empower Christians and churches to live out their faith through the use of money in order to shape a greener, fairer future.

JustMoney currently has two programmes – Money Makes Change and Church Action for Tax Justicethrough which we educate and equip individual Christians and congregations to connect their faith and their finances and mobilise them to campaign for economic justice.

To strengthen grassroots engagement with our work we are developing a ‘Champions’ network of volunteers across the UK. These volunteers will engage others in their churches and communities. Saltley Trust is helping to fund a pilot Champions training and feedback session in Birmingham in early Summer 2022 which will aid the development of this new network. The pilot will enable us to trial ways of training Champions for volunteers in the West Midlands region, equipping them to speak to others on issues of ethical finance and tax justice, rooted in the values and teachings of the Christian faith. We will seek feedback from participants to improve the training and shape the wider Champions project.
